Assistant Teacher at Daycare

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our daycare team. In this role, you will work alongside lead educators to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. Your responsibilities will include assisting with educational activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, and fostering social and cooperative skills through group activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of children in the classroom.
• Provide individual attention to children needing extra assistance.
• Facilitate group activities to enhance social skills.
• Communicate effectively with parents about children's progress.
• Prepare teaching materials as directed by lead teacher.
• Enforce classroom rules and disciplinary measures.
• Encourage children to express themselves creatively through various activities.

Pay / Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions available with a pay range of $16-19 per hour, based on experience. Schedule is a 9-hour shift with a 1-hour lunch break, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; early childhood education coursework preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a daycare or educational setting.
• Effective communication skills and understanding of child development.
• Patience, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively.
• First aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and health screening.
• Strong observational and reporting skills.
• Basic computer skills and commitment to professional development.
